Possible Conflicts of Interest

I want to throw these thoughts out there and look back on them...

I feel like I'll never ever be "good" as it is defined by this book. I think I'm a really good person but I do a lot of things that I know are seen as sinning in this book. I still think I'm good.

I would like to evaluate what I believe is right, and critique why that same action is considered a sin in this book. What values are driving them? What values are driving me? Who benefits? At what cost? What commandments are missing?---We need a queer commandment, one about respecting others differences, and what about accepting non-believers as non-believers? As I get to these morals I will discuss this further.

I've been so negative so far because I feel so oppressed by this book. I do enjoy some parts as well (maybe I'll talk about them). Also, I hate the way that women are treated. I have yet to come across a man who knows how to treat a woman. Or a woman I admire.

So far I feel that I would not easily be accepted by a christian, because my interests are too different, and my morals are too different. But we'll see.

I may be going to hell, I'm not sure yet, I still have a very strong interest in reading and learning about the judeo/christian religions, so that's what this is, it's just an interest.

  1. Even Christians that believe in and live by the BIBLE have a hard time living the way that GOD (the BIBLE) asks us to live. The key thing is that we cannot do anything in of our selves. We need the father to help to us!

We have to know GOD personally, we must have a personal relationship with him, just like Abraham and Isaac, where you literally talk to him and get to know him...you get to know him when you read about him in the BIBLE.

You shouldn't be worried about being accepted by christians. EVERYONE is sinful, everyone has sins and no one person is perfect. The bible says our very nature is sinful. However, some of us acknowledge our sinful nature and ask GOD to help us to become what he wants us to be OR overcome that sinful nature. We will still make mistakes, but we acknowledge that GOD will forgive us and he will keep working on us. Look at Abraham, he didn't always he was not perfect, he lied and was fearful at times, but God loved him and blessed him.

Worry about GOD accepting you and not other people because we are all in the same boat. On the other hand, whoever loves GOD will accept you because GOD is love. Love is accepting someone regardless of differences.

  2. I don't feel that I am getting to know God reading this book. I like the stories.

My nature isn't sinful, that's not true of me. I am not sinning, so I refuse to acknowledge my ways as sinful. But you think they are sinful and that is where we disagree.

I don't know if I agree that lovers of God will accept me. In my opinion, accepting me involves not trying to change me or make me realize I'm sinning when I'm not.

Why should I worry about God accepting me? Especially if I don't believe. I am much happier without God.

  3. You probably don't feel that you are getting to know GOD by reading the bible, but I think you are. The Bible is about GOD, it's like his autobiography. How could you not know more about him?

I know it's hard to hear that your nature is sinful! Gosh! Who wants to hear that (just to reiterate I never said that just your nature was sinful, I said everyone was). I got that statement from the Bible. You don't have to believe it, it's just what it says...

I never said that we would try to change you, we CAN'T! We would just share with you what we have come to understand.

  4. A psychopath has a sinful nature, you and I don't!

I think God wants me to be a homo and that is in his plan. That's why I don't see myself as a sinner.

  5. Why do you keep talking as a "We" and not from the "I" ? It makes me feel like you don't have your own opinions.

  7. I say "we" because all christians - ppl that believe in GOD and the Bible - are one/unified(or that is the goal).

I have my own opinions, but the statments that I am making are not unique to my own thinking.

  8. Are you allowed to have your own opinions in church, when you have bible study?

You can be an individual in a united crowd, you don't have to be of one mind.
